Haul time

I ordered a few things from sephora and nyx.

Let’s start with NYX first. There website can be found here and I purchased all these items myself.

I purchased the bon voyage Go To Palette. It is the more colorful one out of the two choices in these palettes. It retails for 17.00 and can be found here.I also purchased a brush so I could get free shipping.

I also got a brush but it didn’t photograph well. I actually am unimpressed with it but love the to go palette. I can’t wait to use it. Only downside is for being on the go there is no mirror.

Now on to sephora

image

I purchased an Urban Decay primer potion. I got it for ten dollars but it is no longer on sale.

image

A search of Kat von d lipstick in noble. It’s the perfect nude. The website describes it as a cult favorite and matte petal pink nude. It retails for 21.00.

image

I’m trying this mask out. I think it might be a great dupe for the glam glow masks. Here I am wearing it. The retail price is 19.00.

I can say it’s thicker than the glam glow. And after removing it my skin did feel soft and matte.

Have you hauled anything lately. If so please share.

July 2014 favorites

I like to keep it to  five as I usually have a lot of favorites. My five for this month is

  • Manicure/pedicure with a summer shade
  • From my ipsy bag the Clear Skin Laboratories spot treatment. It really does work!!  I felt one coming on and used it. The next morning so feeling of soreness that is a tell-tale sign.
  • Urban Decay Matte shades in the Urban Decay Basics. Love this palette.
  • Another ipsy find Bare Minerals sample of the 5 in 1 cream shadow
  • Lastly, I found this gem again in my stash. Kiehl’s Creamy Eye Treatment. It is very nourishing.

What were your favorites for the month?

Beauty Hot Weather Staples August 2014 Blog Hop

I am late posting this as I wanted to by noon yesterday BUT my cubicle job got hectic and well. I apologize to the ladies in the FB group who we monthly hold these blog hops with. I have added their links at the bottom for your pleasure. 😀

The theme is Hot Weather Staples and here are mine.

016
a setting spray to help combat the melting effect you can sometimes get
047
A great bronzer. In the summer you can go shimmerier but I still prefer Matte. NYC has an inexpensive one that is excellent for lighter skin tones.
bh primer
Eye and Face Primers… Need I say more 😀 This line from BH cosmetics is actually turning out well worth the price.
023
The summer’s Fab Fit Fun box has all your essentials. Water bottle, chapstick, shaving supplies, and most importantly sun screen! I will have a review of the box later this week.
013
Get them brows to stay in place. Tarte has a good waterproof brow mousse but so does anastastia and NYX.
042
Lastly, have some fun with your hair. Go lighter … you don’t have to go drastic like me but add some highlights to give that sun kissed look. No it doesn’t beat the heat but it can make you feel sexier!!

GRWM: Interview time

I had a job interview two weeks ago. I found out yesterday I got it. YEAH!! Here is how I achieved a low key but glowy look. (all items purchased by me to use.. not sure if disclaimer needed or not :D)

The eyes: I can often go overboard (but fun) on my eye makeup. I wanted to go all natural so I used my usual base of Boots No7 Beautifully Matte (to control my oily lids) and Lorac eye primer. I then used my sample from ipsy of the Bareminerals 5 in 1 eye bb cream thing. I love it and I have tried several different cream naked like cream shadows. I then used an elf point brush and applied Naked2 from the Urban Decay Naked Basics Palette. I used my usual Tarte mousse on my eyebrows. I highlighted with my RMS Highlighter cream, Urban Decay whiskey for my waterline and tightline, and two kinds of mascara. LOreal original voluminous for first layer and Elizabeth Mott for the second layer.

The Face: I went super simple. I primed with Benefit’s Porefessional. Applied It Cosmetics light BB Fluid foundation (LOVE IT) I set it with a sample of Silk Naturals Perfecting powder. No contour but did highlight with the RMS again. I used City Colors Be Matte Blush. I set it with Urban Decay’s All Nighter. I decided to use my new Ipsy Bareminerals lipstick and a lip pencil from Ipsy too by Starlooks. I used the three face brushes below. An Ecotools for the blush, Bareminerals for the powder, and the Shany foundation brush for … well the foundation 😀

Viola… the end results! Winner Winner Chicken Dinner!

Latest Eye Looks

I used a variety of products in these looks. Every time I put makeup on I think of my face as a blank canvas and create. That is why I love makeup so much. The info on the pictures are all due to what I wrote on instagram so I might have forgotten an item or two.

I couldn’t find the details of this one so I am not sure.

Just like my bangs in the 90’s, my eyeshadows are never the same two days in a row.

Silk Natural Naked 3 Clone looks

I spent that week using each color of the Silk Natural Naked 3 Clone shadows for the Naked 3 palette.

This one I did tonight using Virtual (UD Liar) on the lid… Drive (UD Factory) in crease… and for liner and outer v Portal (UD Blackheart)

005008011

The next look has Tweak (UD Burnout) on brow bone and lid… Analog (UD limit) in crease… and Impact (UD Buzz) under eye and the V. I forgot to get a picture with the eyes closed. I am sorry 😦

001 002

This day I used as a base this covergirl color stick. Cache (UD Strange) on brow and lid… Torrent (UD Tweak) crease ..and History (UD Mugshot) in V. The top picture is before it was blended the second was it completed with brows.

022 024 025

I don’t know why my flash wouldn’t go off this day very irritating. I think due to my room and it being a wonderfully sunny day. Status (UD Dust) on lid … Parallel (UD Nooner) for crease… and Link (UD Darkside) on the edge.

040 045 046

Does anyone of either the clones or the actual palette? I really love these colors on my green/hazel eyes and is a must if you do bridal work. The rose colors are romantic and do work with most eye colors.

No Sunday FUnday this week as I was on call and it was a sad weekend work wise. (I’m a CD investigator) so I am looking for the next two days to be over for a four day weekend!

What’s in my MUA bag Part two — Pic heavy

THis one is all about the Non Foundation items I took with me to the Springfield MO Women’s Expo. I ended up not using the foundations and I didn’t use any of the eyeshadows and blushes I used as Younique cosmetics was the sponsor and of course I needed to use as much of their products as possible.

I wasn’t sure what to expect so I did pack a little bit of everything in general. So here is the pictures of the rest I packed up.

068
All crammed into my Playboy bowler bag.
067
One of my containers to easy transport things that wouldn’t fit into the playboy bowler
055
used to turn pigments into liner
047
used this on my lighter skinned ladies. Great inexpensive bronzer
046
used on most of the girls for contour and highlight
048
powders
049
Used as a blending powder all over
042
great color range
041
great makeup artist easy to travel palette
044
I used this and a wax pencil for eyebrows
045
Neutrals — for perfect bridal crease and transition work — since I had to use younique only for shadows did not get to use this.
039
See how pretty
040
I heart this palette but didn’t get to use it.
038
cotton swabs and two scoopers
037
Eyeliners.
036
Lip pencils and preps
050
Highlighters — I only used the MAC one.
033
BRUSHES!! divided into crease work and lids.
051
This is my favorite and I used it a lot.
053
The depotted lippies. I never got to use these.
054
The only liquid highlighter I brought wasn’t depotted.
052
It was bridal runway show so I brought these just in case.
057
Eye Cream and bases
063
Beauty Blenders and one dupe
062
Face Brushes
060
My moisturizers and concealers
065
I used different makeup bags to organize the items

So I think I did a good job of not bringing too too much. Especially since my first time doing anything like this. I am very proud of myself if I do say so myself lol. IF you don’t believe in yourself who will right???

Silk Naturals: Free Goodies and UD Naked 3 Clone loose shadows

Before Christmas I purchased from silk naturals, I have since purchased twice more partly due to their awesome customer service. I figured two months since I’ve had these I should finally get this post up. I never know when I am suppose to do a disclosure so I will put it in here. I purchased all this with my own money … all opinions are my own… and hell I don’t even have affiliate links! 😀 Not that there is anything wrong with that… I’m just jealous and hatin! lol

Anywho…. first the awesome free items I got with my purchase. I did not realize when I purchased the items I did that I was entitled to a free shadow or lippie. I actually got both. If you know ahead of time with spending $35 you can request a specific shade. I didn’t but what I got was perfect anyway. The loose pigment is a subtle shimmer highlighting color.

One of the most unique things about the company is you make your own perfect shade of loose foundation. Here is what you get in the sample kit. The company has a message board where they help you find your perfect recipe. I will do another post on this another day.

nikon122113 119nikon122113 121

You get four different shades to mix in with the powder. Can you see the names ok?

nikon122113 120

So what I actually bought was the loose shadow dupes of the Urban Decay Three palette. It comes packaged in this nice bag. I got it as a new product deal which came with a matching lippie and their version of shadow glue.

nikon122113 110nikon122113 123nikon122113 125

Here is the colors in the containers. The top is the names and the bottom is same order.

nikon122113 128nikon122113 127

Here they are swatched on my arm. Top Left above through bottom right.

nikon122113 132nikon122113 133

Swatched on white paper. All together then a little closer up.

nikon122113 134nikon122113 136nikon122113 137

This retails for 39.99 where the Urban Decay is 52 and I am sure it is less product. Of course you don’t have to worry about spilling the shadow everywhere like I am always paranoid of doing. You can get dupes for all the Urban Decay nakeds actually. Which is pretty awesome. You can even purchase individuals ones as well. Here is the swatches of the dupe and the original from their website.

Bare Necessities Set 3- compare to UD Naked 3

Another great review can be found at Phyrra’s website and of course where I got the bug to buy it. I have been doing looks with other eyeshadows for posts I have planned but I do plan on completing a weeks worth of looks with this for you guys so you can see just how versatile these colors are… especially with green, and hazel eyes.

Yes this might be a cheap post but I wanted to give you guys a tease of what is coming up on the blog. 😀
