Part of my losing my passion was I have had hormonal acne the last year. I can’t seem to get rid of it. I am now trying acne.org. I purchased it myself and so far (after only a week) I feel it is working by stopping a total break out. I am still getting some bumps on my chin but not white heads. Here is a video on how to use it. The website has a forum and many testimonials. If you suffer from acne you should try it out I recommend it. And I will update you in a couple months as to if it is still working.
I purchased this a couple months ago at Sephora. It is a beautiful fine milled powder. It is described as …”A universal finishing powder that features state-of-the-art technology to recreate the most exquisitely flattering types of light.” It retails for 45.00
Ok so the point of this post ….I do not find it worth the hype. I am glad I have it in my collection but sad to say only as a hoarder. I do use it because of the price but I wouldn’t get another one.
A more inexpensive alternative I have found is from Everyday Minerals.
I have a sample of the Pearl Finishing dust from Everyday Minerals and it is a less expensive almost dupe of the ambient powders in my opinion. Here is the sites description. “Sheer coverage provides the perfect canvas for virtually every skin tone while minimizing dulling effects with subtle shimmer.” It retails for 14.00.
Let me know if you have tried either or have any other dupes/alternative.
And disclaimer I purchased myself and opinion is my own in case it wasn’t clear lol
I have tried to easy peel products. This post is exploring if I feel it is better to get the higher end or if the lower end is just as good or better. The two products I am reviewing are…
Missha Super Aqua Oxygen Micro Essence Peeling and it retails for 23.00 from Missha.com. I am not affiliated and purchased this product on my own. Per the website…
The gel-type peeling essence is gentle and gives an intensive care to clean and hydrate skin. Watch as it bubbles to remove dead skin cells, impurities, and oil.
The Oxygen Micro Peeling System has the benefits of peeling + nourishing + soothing + turn-over.
Sonya Dakar Flash Facial. I had a sample I talked about months ago. It is pricey at 90.00 but Fab FIt Fun box had it in there so I got it practically for free as I only spent 35.00 for that box. Per the website …
Reveal fresh young skin in 1 minute! This safe and effective exfoliating gel quickly sloughs away dead skin and other impurities. Created with lactic acid to gently detoxify, Hylasome (5 times more moisturization than standard hyaluronic acid), and anti-oxidant rich resveratrol to nourish. Skin is left soft to the touch, plumper and instantly brighter. The results are immediate and undeniable. Recommended for all skin types.
Apply daily. Massage a thin layer onto clean, dry skin and allow to dry for 1-2 minutes. Gently rub off in circular motions. Rinse face with lukewarm water and follow with appropriate Sonya Dakar treatment product.
With having used both a number of times. I definitely say the splurge is worth it over the steal. I just never felt it peeled anything and the Sonya Dakar leaves my face uber soft and brightened.
Again not sponsored video and the opinion is mine alone. 😀 CHeck out my social media while your at it… please! find them over there _____________>>>>>>
Quick review as this was a meh product for me. No need to elaborate a lot. 😀
- If you love long lasting mascara this is a great one
- If you love a wet formula
- If you love the more spidery look
This Mascara is for you.
I like all those things yet this one was not for me. I wore it for two weeks and decided it is heavy on my lashes. And it is so messy and a lot comes off on the wand. I will use it up on occasions but I decided no longer for day wear.
Have you tried it? What did you think? Comment, questions, random thoughts please leave below. And don’t forget to check out my social medias found to your right 😀
My obsession for independent Etsy makeup stores was refueled recently with scaredy cat cosmetics.
So just five questions
1 … well dual question first why/how got started and came up with company name
2 what is your inspiration for colors and their names?
3 do you have a beauty or company motto saying etc
4 what does the future hold for scaredy cat?
5 anything you want to share that I might have missed asking?
1. I got started after working as a graphic artist at a local advertising studio. We worked with a lot of fashion brands and I always really enjoyed watching the make up artists work during our photo shoots. So, I began teaching myself how to work with powders and pigments. This lead to me learning how to make my own colors, pigments, powder, and skin care products.
The company itself was started during a rather difficult time for my family. The recession had hit us hard and starting such a project at that time was pretty intimidating. I have a little orange tabby cat that always knew how to cheer me up when I needed it. He became the inspiration for the name and logo. He’s even helping me now by resting his chin on my keyboard.
2. The inspiration for the colors and names come from so many different places. I often pull from nature for my color inspiration, be it a flower I saw that day or a colorful bird I saw in a nature documentary. The names are often puns that relate to the color or label illustration. I also have a soft spot for internet terminology (e.i. Teal Deer and Flounce Cat).
3. I don’t have an official company motto, but I live by the belief that beauty is self-confidence applied directly to the face.
4. We are currently going through a lot of changes. My family just purchased some real estate and we will be building new and bigger facilities. This should allow us to expand into more product lines. I have so many things I want to get onto the market (especially these nail polishes with their super adorable bottles).
5. I wish I could think of something, but forgive me I’m drawing a blank (spent the day on the build site and I’m just beat). Thanks for giving me this opportunity to chat with you. Cheers!
I think the pictures speak for themselves. And I can attest they stay on my oily kids so they will yours. I love how they’re subtle shades then bold ones depending on your mood.
Only con is though the vials hold a lot and are super cute they are hard to get the pigment out. But they were a draw to my purchase so for me easy to overlook and I depot most everything anyway.
Disclaimer I purchased with my own money (five vials are eight dollars with shipping) and the opinions are my own. I was not asked to review then either.
Well you be trying them?
I wore this foundation for two weeks on and off. I feel I have a good fair idea of my feelings on it. First I have been trying to find it as no Bed Bath and Beyond I had access to carried cosmetics. Not locally, not on my vacation to Des Moines and Minneapolis. Boo lol
First day before and after foundation only. It covers well and has a nice satin finish. I think I got a good shade match.
The next time I wore it I decided to take after photos. This was after ten hours of wear. It is mostly worn off and it slipped into my pores. But it doesn’t claim to be long wear though either.
This day I mixed it with Estee Lauder Double Wear. It mixed well but it did not help the longevity of the foundation. This is after twelve hours right before I took it off for the day.
My final day wearing it for review and It suits well to an easy natural day.
My overall thoughts:
Pros — Beautiful Finish, price point is decent, easy to apply (I used a real techniques expert face brush)
Cons — It is hard to tell what the shade is i the bottle, not a full usual ounce, and for all day wear you will be disappointed. It should last through a none hectic work day though. Prime well so help minimize sinking into larger pores.
Have you tried it? Thoughts? Next I am going to review foundation wise Hard Candy’s new Just Face it Featherweight formula One Step Foundation.

Hi Everyone. I am down to two boxes this month. I just wasn’t feeling the other two I was getting. I think I will be down to one from here on out unless some spectacular new one comes out. Ipsy just can’t be beat even if it is a mediocre month it still is worth the price. Also thanks to all the folks who have used my link to sign up. I really do appreciate it!!
My favorite of the bunch is the eyebrow liner and the NYX Butter Gloss. I am now intrigued by the Carol’s Daughter and the Eyeliner. The perfume is meh.
I think this will be the last box of sample society I get. It seems to be all face/perfume/hair products and no makeup. I prefer the makeup with just a smidgen of the other once in a while. That is why I love ipsy so much. The fact there is two perfumes is annoying to me. The best item is the Malin and Goetz. I have never tried anything of theirs but can get a discount for products due to my affiliation with the Powder Group.
Both these boxes I purchased with my personal money and the review is my own thoughts. If you would like to join ipsy they have an awesome referral program and I would appreciate if you use my link. But if you don’t that’s cool too I am just glad you found my blog 😀
